Passed the 50,000 word mark on 30 November (skin-of-the-teeth stuff, what fun!). Still have several more chapters to go before completion (of the first draft!), but glad the pressure’s off a little bit now. Fortunately I still have another month of sabbatical left 🙂

“What did I learn about writing a novel in a month? I think the most important thing the presenter said in terms of getting 50,000 words on the page is “Don’t delete.” The class provided enough information for writers to chew on without choking. And it gave someone like me (who has heard it all) something to think about. All of that is good to hear again.”

“The presenter did a great job of delivering the information in a clear way, and not overwhelming us with unnecessary details. Using a published text as example was a wonderful way to demonstrate how we can improve our own writing. The presentation helped jumpstart me, since I’ve just begun my first book and I was looking for some tips and inspiration. Since the presentation, I have completed my 62-page book proposal (whew!) and I’m now on Chapter 2 of my first nonfiction book.”
