“I identify myself more as a writer who uses food as a way to tell the stories of people than I do as a food writer.”

– Elazar Sontag

Writing about Food – New Edition

Food writing isn’t just about recipes & cookbooks.

Infinitely flexible, “food writing” can combine with any & every literary form.

At this workshop, you’ll have the option—and the freedom—to write:

  • a personal essay
  • part of a “foodoir” (food-related memoir)
  • a food-centered super-short story
  • a cookbook review
  • a piece of culinary travel writing
  • a restaurant review
  • a food newsletter
  • a food-centered poem….

Together, we’ll use the concept and the comfort of food to help you develop your voice as a writer.

In the process, you’ll think, dream, and write about food.

Beginners and non-native speakers of English welcome.
