“The biggest thing I learned is how important all of the senses are when doing any kind of writing, particularly travel writing. It occurred to me that all my favorite travel pieces appeal to the senses as a means of transporting me into the piece. I also learned that I can come up with some good writing pretty quickly by just bolting it out with pen and paper.
