The Amsterdam Writing Workshops Presents
Writing Nonfiction: A Two-day Workshop
Saturday & Sunday, March 29-30, 1 pm – 5 pm
Taught by Lisa Friedman
Nonfiction is now more abundant than ever—we read it in magazines, newspapers, books, on the Internet.... And nonfiction writing is wonderfully varied; memoir, biography, history—all this, and more, “counts” as nonfiction.
At this new workshop, we’ll explore how to make nonfiction happen on the page, including:
– how to find focus within subjects of interest
– how to research authentically, for surprising results
– how to interview successfully—for provocative quotes
– how to write well-structured, compelling, true prose.
Appearing as guest speaker will be author Pete Jordan. He’ll answer questions and share research & interview techniques.
– ABC Treehouse, Voetboogstraat 11, Amsterdam
– Fee: 150 euro
– Beginners and non-native English speakers welcome.
