writes & performs for Boom Chicago—co-teaches humor & comedy workshops. Rob AndristPlourde was born to do comedy: his mother’s water broke upon hearing the punch line, “The hills are alive with the sound of music.” As an adolescent, he improvised his way out of one of America’s most exclusive private schools (okay, it was Applewild). At Denison University, he joined the comedy group “Burpee’s Seedy.” His post-graduate comedy education took place at Comedy Sportz and at Chicago’s Second City, the theater that launched John Belushi, Mike Myers, and Bill Murray. For the past eight years, Rob has performed at Boom Chicago on the Leidseplein; he’s also been back to Second City to perform. Rob regularly gives classes and corporate workshops on writing and improvisational comedy.
